Greg Jarrett – Liar Or Uninformed?
Reported by Priscilla – June 15, 2008
Yesterday (June 14th), on the Saturday version of Election HQ with Julie Banderas and Greg Jarrett, Jarrett spoke with liberal Newsday columnist Ellis Henican about (shock, shock) drilling in ANWR and the necessity for further off shore drilling. (Remark: Fox does appear to have an agenda right here because this appears to be the theme of the moment).
Jarrett made the perfunctory, “amusing” remarks about “who cares about caribous,” to which Henican responded that we shouldn’t need to destroy a pristine Arctic wilderness so individuals can drive Hummers. (Remark: Environmental points aren’t necessary to the 6,000 yr previous earth, rapture ready crowd.) Jarrett then mentioned off shore drilling and stated that the environmentalists killed off shore drilling in Florida and California. He then, together with his characteristic, smarmy chortle stated that the Chinese have been drilling off of Cuba.
Comment: Wait a minute. Didn’t he learn the memo, from Vice President Cheney, that stated “It is our understanding that, although Cuba has leased out exploration blocks 60 miles off the coast of southern Florida, which is closer than American firms are allowed to operate in that area, no Chinese firm is drilling there,” Cheney’s statement follows a report, from Jorge Piñon, an power skilled at the University of Miami’s Middle for Hemispheric Policy who advised the Miami Herald that “China is not drilling in Cuba’s Gulf of Mexico waters, period.” The Herald added “China’s Sinopec oil company does have an agreement with the Cuban government to develop onshore resources west of Havana, Piñon said. The Chinese have done some seismic testing, he said, but no drilling. Western diplomats in Havana told McClatchy that to the best of their knowledge there is no Chinese drilling offshore.”
And relating to “environmentalists killing Florida and California off shore drilling” – Jarrett didn’t do his homework as a result of if he did, he would have came upon that a Republican managed US Senate, in 2006, handed a regulation, which whereas allowing off shore drilling, restricted off shore drilling to past 125 miles of the Florida coasts. Florida Republican Mel Martinez stated that this measure “will protect our shoreline.” So far as California goes, Republican Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger stated this: “I will continue working with the California Congressional Delegation to urge the defeat of any changes to the existing ban on offshore drilling. I will also work to get the federal government to buy out the existing federal leases. Our ocean, beaches, and coastline is critical to the entire state and every single Californian. I am unwilling to put our environment at risk for the sake of new energy exploration on California’s coast.” (Remark: He have to be a “secret” “S-P”! )
Comment: As soon as once more Fox matches it’s “facts” around the coverage although their “facts” are totally different, in this case, from their Republican gurus who have accepted reality based mostly actuality. Fox does know its demographics very properly because they depend on the truth that their factually challenged viewers will blindly consider the factually inaccurate gospel in line with Roger Ailes. As soon as once more the “wisdom of George Costanza” involves mind – “it’s not a lie if you believe it.”
” … Gregg Jarrett (born April 1, 1955) … Previous to Fox News, Jarrett labored at MSNBC as an anchor and correspondent. While at MSNBC, he coated stories including the September 11th Assaults, Israeli–Palestinian conflict, and the 2000 U.S. Presidential Election Controversy. …

Video: The Rising Anger In The Heartland – “A couple of months ago, I appeared on Fox News and was informed by ‘anchor’ (hereby ‘cartoon character’) Greg Jarrett that ‘historians agree’ that the New Deal exacerbated the Great Melancholy. It was a press release so factually inaccurate that it approached madness. Now, the cartoon character makes a good greater ass out of himself in a debate with Virg Bernero, the mayor of Lansing, Michigan. I encourage you to observe it.

Lansing (MI.) Mayor Represents Nicely … TKOs Fox News’ Gregg Jarrett
Should you mess with the bull … you get the horns. Fox News anchor Gregg Jarrett, who isn’t precisely recognized for his objectivity (like many individuals on Fox Information), was blasted by the mayor of Lansing (in my residence state of Michigan). In the future after a Connecticut mayor schooled another Fox Information host, Jarrett caught a verbal beatdown of his own from Mayor Virg Bernero, who did his homework and was nicely prepared for the confrontation with Jarrett, who entered the interview with a Republican anti-union agenda (utilizing the stereotypes that these auto staff are grossly overpaid and never making an allowance for the robust insurance coverage they’ve for themselves and for their households). Mayor Bernero was having nothing to do with the conservative speaking points being superior by Jarrett and others at Fox Information. The video is value watching. First Steve Doocy was whipped and then at some point later Jarrett hung in a bit higher, however nonetheless was knocked out. These two mayors have set the bar high for subsequent mayors who come alongside to battle with conservative Fox News.
A CIA HOAX
Mike Baker, Described As “Former CIA Agent,” Has Close Bush Administration Ties – “Fair and Balanced?” – I Don’t Assume So!
January 26, 2009
On yesterday’s (January 25th) Sunday show with Julie Banderas and Greg Jarrett, a subject, now part of the Fox worry factor script was discussed – the question of whether President Obama’s new government orders pertaining to torture and the closing of Gitmo and different secret prisons, will “keep us safe.” Fox is utilizing all it has, in its arsenal of worry issue cards, to advertise the meme that the orders will end in a deterioration of national security because torture is usually a good factor. … Not surprisingly, Greg Jarrett interviewed a gentleman, described on the chyron as a “Former CIA agent, about the topic. It didn’t take long to realize that Mike Baker was there to reinforce the aforementioned propaganda. The use of the term “far left” was a lifeless giveaway. So I did just a little googling and got here up with some fascinating info on an ex “spook” with a real agenda and a few actual partisan buddies
When you google Mike Baker and Fox Information, you’ll get various hits. It appears he’s one of their go to guys for “security” points. He additionally contributes to an opinion column for the Fox website (A current Baker article has the non partisan title, “Leon Panetta, say it ain’t so”). Baker is head of a security firm referred to as Diligence LLC an organization that had some good contracts with the Bush Administration in “liberated” Iraq. It is partnered with New Bridge Methods which paid Neil Bush to acquire contracts for work in Iraq. Related to New Bridge are right wingers Joe Albaugh, Mike Rogers, and Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour.
In the course of the interview, Baker justified torture in “select cases” – including waterboarding (which the US executed Japanese warfare criminals for – one thing that doesn’t appear to get talked about on Fox Information however which Jon Stewart has commented about). He stated that “the far left” feels that anything beyond the Army Area Guide is torture and the way foolish is that because you couldn’t even break a youngster with sissy Military Subject Guide methods. (Hmm, how does Baker know that?). Displaying slightly partisanship (quelle surprise!), Jarrett stated “I’m with you on that.” (Word: Obama has directed the CIA to use the Army Area Guide) …
OBAMA MUST BE BOLDER THAN FDR
By Jim Hightower – 2/7/09
” … Naysaying popinjays just like the far-right-wing Heritage Basis now declare that the New Deal was a failure. Fox Information pundit Monica Crowley has stated that the failure is proven by ‘all kinds of studies,’ and her Fox colleague Gregg Jarrett added, “I feel historians just about agree on that.
“Uh…no, they don’t. Certainly, they stunning much agree that tens of millions of households have been saved again then by the New Deal’s public-works packages, and we nonetheless benefit in the present day from the work that these individuals did. The chief shortcoming of FDR’s public spending was that he didn’t do sufficient of it. … “
SIROTA: I appeared on Fox News yesterday to discuss each the Blagojevich flap and the approaching economic restoration package deal from the Obama administration. You’ll be able to watch the clip here. As you’ll see, on that latter problem, Fox News is starting its marketing campaign to cease Obama’s massive spending plan by stating – as assumed reality – that “historians pretty much agree” that Franklin Roosevelt extended the Great Melancholy, and that subsequently, Obama shouldn’t attempt one other New Deal.
Once I say Fox News’ assertion about historians is patently false, they actually snigger at me as if I’ve stated one thing so clearly untrue, something People supposedly assume is so clearly stupid, that it’s worthy of ridicule.
The Melancholy concern was brought up by conservative pundit Monica Crowley – not shocking since this is the conservative speaking point du jour ever because the “center-right nation” meme began wanting idiotic and ever since fringe-right-wing bloviator Amity Shlaes revealed her since-discredited guide claiming FDR primarily created the Nice Melancholy. Crowley supported her the “FDR ruined the country” meme with the very authoritative-sounding assertion that “based on all kinds of studies and academic work done on the great depression” she is aware of that the New Deal’s “massive government intervention prolonged the Great Depression.”
In fact, she doesn’t supply up a single research or “academic work” as any sort of proof, and yet, once I say her assertion is absurd, Fox Information anchor Greg Jarrett starts laughing at me – as if my assertion that FDR’s New Deal helped finish the Great Melancholy is so fantastical as to immediate guffawing. Jarrett proceeds to state that historians “pretty much agree” that FDR extended the Great Melancholy, and resorts to insisting that he is aware of that’s true as a result of “it’s in the books” – regardless of the hell meaning. Certainly, Fox needs us to consider that what was solely very lately the deranged propaganda of a handful of conservative political pundits is now such a consensus opinion among historians that to say otherwise is to evoke laughter. …
